Pet deterant for christmas ornaments?

heres the deal, we have a baby gate system up thats in the past worked great for keeping the little demon fur from the tree and its ornaments. What works or kinda works for you in keeping those little furry paws off the tree. I just caught my Torti calico batting at a Vikings Football ornament that belongs to my husband lil menace grrrrrrr..lol. Oh and not to mention her little partner in crime chewing on the wires for the christmas lights. And I just loooooove that little angelic mew they give when you catch them like" what mommie/daddie... remember Im cute so dont get mad" I swear its like haveing four footed kids besides the 2 legged ones we brought in to the world..lol
