I like your poem; it speaks of the seemingly infinite depth into which many of us have fallen, from which we don't expect to arise, although most of us eventually do. I also like the way the emotion overwhelmed the rhyme scheme until the resolute lamentation found it again. That bodes well for his future. Structure is structure, after all. Good luck.
