Will my 2years old chihuahua get over the fact that we have a new puppy?

My little chihuahua is 2 years old and he's just like our little baby.Both me and my husband would give him so much attention and love (we would always laugh, that there's probably no other dog in the world who would be kissed that much:) But he loved to play with another chi, so we've decided to get another chi. for him. He has never been aggressive to anyone, doesn't even bark that much, he's just happy little boy, who loves everyone around. But I've never seen him so sad, since we got another puppy and we are trying to give him even more attention then before and for sure more attention then to new one. Will he get better? It hurts me seeing him like this:(
