I have no idea whether he likes me?

when you like someone its easy to perceive things they do as something you might want. it sounds like he is giving mixed singles. He probably does like you too but he doesn't know it because you have been friends for so long. If you like him then you shoudl show it and be aggressive about it. You should definetly dress y around him and make him want you in that way and not in the friend way.
